Alice Hoffman Retreat Coordinators and Leaders
Rob Linné (Ph.D. The University of Texas), Director of Art and Adolescence Education, Adelphi University School of Education, has taught creative writing in public schools, wilderness education programs, and youth centers, as well as colleges and universities. Rob, a past recipient of the Texas Memorial Creative Writing Scholarship, has published reviews of Broadway and Off-Broadway theater and serves as a reviewer for the New York International Fringe Festival. Michele Kotler is the founding director of the Community-Word Project. She received her M.F.A. in creative writing, poetry from the University of Michigan. Through her work with Community-Word, Michele runs collaborative creative expression workshops with young people from all over the country and trains artists and classroom teachers in how to use the arts to develop community-building and literacy skills. She performs her poetry in New York City and her work has appeared in Washington Square and Painted Bride Quarterly.
Ellen Hagan is an actress, writer, and educator. Ellen, recently featured on HBO's Def Poetry Jam, has had her work produced on stage as well as on Kentucky Educational Television. Her two-woman show, Becoming Woman, an original piece that explores first kisses, first dates, love, our mothers, abuse, and innocence with humor and intensity was selected to be among the shows represented in the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival.
