Report Series

Vital Signs is a multi-phase campus-community partnership designed to systematically identify, track and analyze the social health of populations and communities in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

By making comprehensive and current data available in a centralized location, Vital Signs provides tools for policy making, strategic planning, and resource allocation.

The inaugural report June 2006 focused on 25 indicators to provide a baseline profile of social health and disparities on Long Island.

The June 2007 report complements this first report and examines 12 indicators specific to mental health and well-being on Long Island.

The January 2008 report, the Long Health Care Survey, moves from outcomes to processes and examines the perceptions of health status and experiences accessing and utilizing health services for over 1,500 Long Island residents.
