Now:
Teaching chemistry and biology at the Bronx Lab School.
I wanted to teach because:
I’ve always interacted with children and knew that my career would revolve around children. After completing my undergraduate degree, I got a job as an assistant teacher. I loved the influence I had on the students and how well they responded to science.
The economy’s effect on me and my chosen career:
Because teaching is one of the more stable careers and because this is my second year teaching, I don’t feel much of an effect. I feel confident and excited to be pursuing a career that is not only rewarding but also secure.
I’d most like to be remembered for:
In my classroom, I would like to be remembered for being firm yet understanding. And I want to be remembered for being a good listener because my students are often experiencing issues at home and always need someone to talk to.
In 10 Years, I will be:
Most likely in the education industry. If not teaching, then counseling.
