American Heart Association Heart Walk 2010
September 26, 2010
Jones Beach, NY
On a balmy Sunday morning, over 100 members of the Adelphi community, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and family members, participated in the Heart Walk 2010. This year's 3-mile September 26 walk was held at Jones Beach, so participants enjoyed a heart healthy walk for a good cause, and had an opportunity to enjoy the beach post-season. To support the efforts of the Adelphi Heart Walk team, employees made a donation to wear jeans and red on Friday, September 24, raising over $1,000 in funds which were donated completely to the American Heart Association. Thanks to all who walked, donated or acted as a "Heart Ambassador" around campus. Adelphi will again hold the Go Red! campus-wide event on Friday, February 4. A nation-wide campaign to wear red and raise awareness of the prevalence of heart disease and stroke, particularly affecting women in its wake.
Thanks for all you do, Adelphi, to help the American Heart Association fight heart disease and stroke.
