| Kimiko Kimoto is Professor of Sociology if the Family and Work at the Graduate School of Sociology, Hirosubashi University. Based on her research on the families of employees of the Toyota Automobile Company, Professor Kimoto's book, Family, Gender and Company-Centered Society in Japan, was awarded a prize from the Society for the Study of Social Policy in Japan in 1996. since then she has co-edited several books, the most recent of which is Women and Working World (with T. Kamada and S. Yazawa, 2000). Professor Kimoto's recent research on job segregation by gender in the retail industry was conducted at one of the largest department stores in Japan. |
