Speaker Bios Patricia M. Evans

Patricia M. Evans is Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Carleton University (Ottawa). A number of her publications on income security place Canada in a comparative perspective, and she writes with particular attention to gender issues. She co-edited Women's Caring (1998) and Women and the Canadian Welfare State (1997), and co-authored Walking on Eggshells: Abused Women's Experiences of Ontario's Welfare System (2004), the first Canadian study examining the impact of welfare reforms on women leaving abuse.
