school of education
Adelphi's School of Education offers a variety of teacher education programs that lead to New York State certification, including elementary education, secondary education, special education, ESL/bilingual education, and reading. In addition, the School has a history of collaborative academic programming with the New York City Board of Education: the Intensive Teaching Training Program, District 75, and bilingual extension programs.

Adelphi faculty also have been active in the implementation of the New Standards, educational reform, and the development of site-based management with school districts. One such district, Mineola, was cited by the New York State Education Department in 1998 for its model site-based management team.

derner institute of advanced psychological studies
Specializing in clinical psychology, the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies grants graduate and doctoral degrees and houses the Center for Psychological Services, which has provided evaluation and individual and group counseling and psychotherapy to the community for over twenty years. The Center is staffed by licensed psychologists, clinical psychology faculty, and supervised doctoral students.

school of social work
During its fifty years, the School of Social Work has consistently offered nationally-recognized social programs, including the Refugee Assistance Program, which provides social and vocational support, and a variety of service programs to parents in need.

During the 1998-1999 academic year, the School placed more than 550 students in over 400 field agencies in the New York metropolitan area.

school of management and business
The School of Management and Business provides consulting services — fiscal management, leadership, systems analysis, and strategic planning — to a wide range of non-profit organizations, including metropolitan hospitals through the School's health care management program.
