Nina D’Abreo, MD, is an attending physician at Winthrop University Hospital, where she is an active member
of the Breast Health Program, the only Long Island program accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). She serves on the breast cancer advisory committee and is responsible for developing the breast cancer clinical trials program. She currently serves as the principal investigator of several co-operative group sponsored breast cancer clinical trials at Winthrop. Dr. D’Abreo is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, SUNY at Stony Brook. With her colleagues, she is involved in writing articles for peer reviewed publications, with a particular interest in HER2 positive breast cancer and breast cancer survivorship.

Sandi Kafenbaum, LCSW, has over 20 years of experience working with breast cancer patients as the Counseling/Group Coordinator at the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. She develops and
facilitates support groups, counseling services, consults with health care professionals in setting up group programs, speaks to community groups about breast cancer issues, and works extensively with social work interns.

Denise Coleman will join Dr. D’Abreo and Ms. Kafenbaum on the panel to share her experiences living with metastatic breast cancer.
