Special Election Season Workshop:Bridging Political Divides with Collaborative Communication

Would you like new ways to speak effectively with those with different political views, addressing issues of equality and social change? With the Presidential election coming up, you may find yourself in challenging political conversations both at work and at home. How do you share your views in a way that can be easily heard by others? And how do you support others—including those with very different views than what you hold—have space to hear you?  Join NYC communications-expert Dian Killian at the National Peace Academy to learn:   

  • Ways of communicating that draw on common values to foster shared understanding and trust — even when others may be distrusting, dismissive or judgmental
  • Self-manage your reactions in challenging conservations
  • Talk about equality in a way that changes how others see and experience the world
  • Learn practical skills to foster self-connection and choice, even in challenging situations and when “under fire” 
  • Apply the Nonviolent Communication model to political conversations via exercises and role-play to transform misunderstanding and pushback to trust and connection!
