Join Pamela Trevithick, currently at Buckinghamshire New University, England, at Manhattan Center Wednesday Night, Oct. 24 from 6-8.  

Dr. Trevithick is the author of many books, including the best-selling text, Social Work Skills and Knowledge: A Practice Handbook (2012), a recommended text on most UK social work programmes and one that has been translated into five languages.  

She is the Chair of GAPS, an organization promoting relationship-based approaches, and psychodynamic and systemic thinking in social work.  Founded in 1984, GAPS (Group for the Advancement of Psychodynamics and Psychotherapy in Social Work) has promoted the importance of relationship-based approaches in social work.

The seminar will be talking about building and supporting relationships in practice from an international perspective, and will look at how organizational context shapes professional relationships and practice.
