Farhana Masood
The Relentless Pursuit of Knowledge
A quest for knowledge and professional development to meet the demands of a more competitive world is what prompted Farhana Masood to pursue a degree in education at Adelphi University's Manhattan Center.
Currently a principal of a private middle school, she continuously implements new knowledge and practices acquired from her classes at Adelphi, and as a result, she has noticed an improvement in teachers' performance and student achievement.
"Moving towards leading in the 21st century world, Adelphi University ensures that we…are well prepared to face the new demands of this challenging educational world," says Ms. Masood, explaining that the Educational Leadership Program places a special emphasis on the abilities of team collaboration and technology integration in the entire school system.
Equipped with the solid foundation she has gained at Adelphi, Ms. Masood eventually hopes to cross over to the public school system as an administrator and continue to develop toward school district leadership.
And after that? "Before I retire, I want to teach at Adelphi's Educational Leadership Program and share their vision of excellence," she says.
