Don't Get Burned:
A Training Seminar Offered by the State Comptroller

Whether your budget is $50,000 or $50,000,000, your organization could be a victim of fraud. "Don't Get Burned" can prepare you to be pro-active in protecting your finances by strengthening your internal controls and assessing potential risks. 

Join  our Keynote Speaker - New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and staff from his State Government Accountability Division for an engaging and  informative training seminar on Fraud Detection and Prevention for the nonprofit sector.

Pre-registration is required by February 23, 2012, to attend. Space may be limited.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion from the Comptroller's office. Breakfast will be provided.

Are You Chasing After Grants?
On September 20, 2011, Ann Marie Thigpen will moderate a panel of foundation grantmakers for an AFP-LI event.  Read more at the Association of Fundraising Professionals website.

Is 'Doing Good' Facing A Boomer Bust?
This public news service piece was on the radio and press across New York State and several other states.

Ann Marie Thigpen, who trains nonprofit leaders, is worried about the departure of baby boomers who brought the passion and the idealism of the '60s and '70s to their work.

"The baby boomers have been the heart and the soul of the sector, but I also think—and I absolutely believe this—that change is good."

Ann Marie Thigpen has been chosen along with 29 other leaders from New York State to serve on Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman's Leadership Committee for Nonprofit Revitalization.  The Leadership Committee will be making recommendations to the Attorney General to reduce regulatory burdens and costs on nonprofits while strengthening nonprofit accountability.
