About the Speaker
Dr. Alireza Ebrahimi is a professor at School of Business, State University of New York at Old Westbury where he teaches Information Systems and Web & E-Commerce. He served as chair of Computer and Information Science from 1993-1995. He received a Chancellor's Award for Scholarship and Creative Activities in 2006 and Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence in 1993. Dr. Ebrahimi developed a visual language known as VPCL (1989). He has a Provisional Patent for his developed System. Professor Ebrahimi has taught at other institutions such as Fordham University, NYU, Polytechnic University of New York, and Nassau Community College.  He teaches an online course on "Introduction to C++ and OOP" for Empire State College.  He has also served as ACM lecturer, consultant / trainer to several Businesses. Dr. Ebrahimi received all his three degrees in Computer Science and his graduate study was at NYU and Polytechnic University where he earned his Ph.D. in 1989. Dr. Ebrahimi published a two volume book "C++ Programming Easy Ways" in 2002. Dr. Ebrahimi is currently the director of the Teaching for Learning Center at SUNY Old Westbury.
