Peter DeBartolo is Director of Administration for the Levermore Global Scholars (LGS) Program and teaches in Adelphi's LGS Program, Department of International Studies, and Peace Studies Program. He directs and manages all administrative dimensions of the LGS Program and supervises its strategic relations with international, national, and local civil society organizations, as well as its engagement with the United Nations. Peter received his B.A. in Political Studies and Global & International Affairs from Bard College and earned his M.A. with Distinction in Political Science from Central European University, in Budapest, Hungary, where he also completed Ph.D. coursework in Political Sociology.
He has been named a Carnegie New Leader by the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs and recognized as a Global Citizen Diplomat by the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy. He has guest lectured at the American College of Norway (Norway), Zhaodong Institute for Teacher Training (China), and Siena College (USA), and also recently won Adelphi University's 2010-2011 Teaching Excellence Award as the university's top adjunct professor. Peter is an active member of the American Political Science Association, American Society of International Law, and the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy. He has lived in Spain, China, Hungary, and the United States and also regularly advises leading international non-profits on issues of advocacy, development, and strategy.
