Halloween Jamboree
|
It's that time of year when everyone dresses up to trick-or –treat again. Though Halloween is a night to go out and have fun, it is also the time to get to know your community better. On October 25th, the Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton Community Health Center organized a Halloween Jamboree for the local public. The Center was transformed into a Halloween themed carnival so that the children and their families could enjoy the early celebrations of Halloween. Volunteers from all over New York came together on October 24h and 25th to make the Halloween Jamboree a successful event.
On both days, Levermore Global Scholars volunteered at the center to help make the event exciting. The day before the Jamboree, LGS students and faculty helped the organization fill goodie bags for the children and decorate the place. On the day of the Halloween Jamboree, LGS students helped the Health Center with the various entertainment tasks, including thrilling children at a haunted house, face painting, story telling and much more. The event was highly successful, as roughly 400 children participated in the Jamboree. The Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton Community Health Center welcomed the LGS students with open arms and made the event enjoyable for both the community and the volunteers.
