Faculty advisors to the students in the Levermore Global Scholars Program are encouraged to consult the LGS Advisement Sheet to offer a proper academic guidance to the LGS Scholars. As a general rule, the LGS Scholars should be encouraged to avoid taking general education courses in their freshmen and sophomore years because they will be required to enroll for the LGS sophomore, junior and senior seminars that will meet these requirements.
To avoid common problems please note that:
- LGS freshmen courses meet Adelphi competency requirements
- LGS sophomore courses meet general education requirements in the social sciences and count towards the International Studies major
- LGS junior and senior seminars meet general education requirements in arts, sciences, social sciences and humanities, and may also meet the requirements of particular majors or minors
