Requirements for Students and Alumni


Workshops
Each participant in the Leadership Certificate Program (regardless of year of graduation) must complete a minimum of six (6) workshops during two consecutive semesters unless other arrangements have been made with the Leadership Certificate Program Committee. If participant completes eight (8) programs, he/she become eligible for a GOLD level certificate and if ten (10) or more programs are completed a PLATINUM level certificate will be awarded.

Portfolio and Portfolio Review
Each participant must complete and present a portfolio to the committee. The participant does not have to sit for an interview. The portfolios will be uploaded electronically through Moodle, Adelphi's online course management program. Upon registration for the program, each participant with be given an account on the eCampus internal portal and access to Moodle.

All portfolio worksheets will be uploaded to Moodle by the program creators. Each participant is to fill out the required sheets and save them to their Moodle account.

Included in each portfolio:

  1. Assessment of each workshop (found on Moodle)
  2. Overall assessment.  To be completed at the end of each semester in which the participant is enrolled.

**Please note that each individual assessment MUST be completed within TWO (2) weeks of the date of the particular workshop for which it applies. The overall semester assessment is due no later than TWO (2) weeks after the date of the LAST workshop of that semester.  All materials must be filled out and uploaded by that time in order to receive attendance credit for the workshops.

Portfolios can be rejected by the committee as being incomplete or inadequate. If this occurs, participants will be granted one opportunity to rework and resubmit portfolio.

Undergraduate certificates are presented at Adelphi's Brown and Gold Dinner while graduate student and alumni certificates are mailed to the address provided upon registration.

Sample Leadership Certificate


The Leadership Certificate Program is an interdepartmental initiative that offers the Adelphi student and alumni communities opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills. Participants are able to attend various workshops offered by the Center for Student Involvement, Office of Alumni Relations and the Center for Career Development.
