International Community Service
The Alternative Spring Break program in Costa Rica was developed as a component of the Volunteer Services Program, which currently houses the Freshman Community Action Program (FCAP) and will be the future home of the Volunteer Resource Network. The program in the Dominican Republic was developed by the Levermore Global Scholars Program.
The Alternative Spring Break program allows Adelphi students the opportunity to perform meaningful community service, and expose them to environmental, social, cultural and economic concerns in developing countries. We anticipate that these experiences will help Adelphi students enhance their respect for cultural differences and will also enable them to better understand issues of international poverty and development.
