Master of Arts in School Psychology

School psychology is an applied area of study in which students gain the skills necessary to function in varied school environments. The Master of Arts in School Psychology program emphasizes a strong foundational training in psychology and education, comprehensive training in personality and cognitive assessment, and thorough clinical training that includes a one-year full-time internship in a school setting. Students who complete this program will meet the requirements for provisional certification as a school psychologist in New York State.

The program entails 72 credit hours of study, with core courses in psychology and education, 15 credits in assessment, 12 credits of education, and a 24-credit core of clinical preparation, which includes the internship.
