ASCEND Program (R.N. to B.S. Program)

Adelphi University School of Nursing
Beginning in fall 2006, the Hauppauge Center will offer the ASCEND program for registered nurses pursuing a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Designed to accommodate the schedules of working nurses, the program allows nurses to attend classes only one day each week. Two classes per semester will be offered mid-week on the same day continuously through graduation.

Dedicated to the highest professional standards, this program instills an appreciation for cultural diversity and an understanding of the different applications of health care in a wide range of settings. The ASCEND program applies theory and research to clinical practice and community service. The program enhances the nurse's role in health promotion, long-term care, research, advocacy, teaching, and management.
