The 2008 Senior Pledge Drive
What is the Senior Pledge Drive?
The Senior Pledge Drive is an annual campaign driven by your senior class leaders and the fundraising branch of F.A.L.A. to raise money for our senior class gift. All students have benefited in one way or another from the gifts of alumni who came before us, the Senior Pledge Drive is the first opportunity for students to say thank you and continue the tradition of making similar opportunities available to future generations of Adelphi students. By donating in honor of our graduation we can help future students the way past alumni have assisted us.
What is this year’s class gift?
This year’s gift will give the Class of 2008 recognition in what will be one of the most visible and active areas on campus. As part of the Campaign for Adelphi construction the Class of 2008 will support the purchase of a large, engraved, pathway centerpiece which will be permanently placed in front of the new sports complex.
How does my gift make a difference?
The main goal of the Senior Pledge Drive is participation. Through your participation, you can show your support for Adelphi. You can also help our class achieve results that we will be proud to announce at Commencement. Overall, participation from seniors and alumni is important to Adelphi. The participation rate is used by US News & World Report and others as one of the factors in determining Adelphi’s ranking among other universities.
Why should I participate in the Senior Pledge Drive if I am not interested in the class project?
All of us have experiences from our time at Adelphi that have been important to us—from internships to athletics to making friends and participating in student activities. The Senior Pledge Drive is an opportunity to leave our legacy on campus and is one way to ensure that future Adelphi students will have similar opportunities. Although the gift might not have been your first choice, think about the students that will appreciate your gift in the future.
