Erna S. Lovely M.A. ’65 |
Erna S. Lovely M.A. ’65, will be honored with the 2010 Lifetime Service to Adelphi award. A generous supporter of the University, she has contributed to the Campaign for Adelphi University as recognized by the Charles H. Levermore Society and the Ruth S. Harley Society. In 2005, she and her husband established “The Thomas and Richard Lovely Scholarship,” which was named after their sons and is awarded each year to an outstanding Garden City High School senior who will attend Adelphi. In addition to her commitment to her family and alma mater, Mrs. Lovely has also provided longstanding service to her community, as chair of Mercy Hospital’s Golf and Tennis Tournament and member of Nassau Community College’s Board of Trustees. Mrs. Lovely received her B.A. from the University of Michigan, and after beginning her career at the Sperry Gyroscope Company, she went on to earn her M.A. in elementary education from Adelphi in 1965.
