Designated and Memorial Gifts |
Making a Designated Gift
You may wish to designate a gift to a particular school, program, or purpose. To do so, simply place your request in writing and submit it along with your gift to the University. You will receive full credit in recognition societies for gifts designated to specific University needs.
You may designate your gift for:
Academic Programs within Adelphi Schools and Colleges
University Libraries
Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
Cultural Events Programs
(Lecture, Art, Music, Theatre and Ambassador Series)
Community Service Programs
Making a Memorial Gift
Memorial gifts offer you the opportunity to recognize a loved one through a contribution to Adelphi. Unless otherwise specified, memorial gifts are added to the University's scholarship fund.
When making a memorial gift, please include the following information:
- Address and telephone number of the principal donor
- Name and address of surviving family member(s) or other benefactor(s) to whom notice of the gift should be sent
- Name, address and amount of each donation included in gift total
Adelphi will send an acknowledgement to the surviving family with the name and address of the donor, but not the amount of the gift. Special funds may be set up in the name of the deceased, if requested, depending on the amount of the gift and whether donors intend to make additional gifts in the future. Making a Special Occasion Gift
You may choose to honor a person or an event, such as a birthday, anniversary, or retirement, through a gift to Adelphi. When making your gift, please include the following information:
- Name and address of the person(s) to be honored
- Event (if applicable)
- Your telephone number in case there are any questions
The honoree will be notified of the gift and the name and address of the donor, but not the amount of the gift. Special funds may be set up in the name of the honoree. For more information on establishing a fund, please contact the Office of University Advancement.
