Everyone of us is affected in some way by breast cancer. Perhaps it is our grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, wife, friend, or colleague who has had breast cancer, or even a male that we know. Now is an opportunity to give back and help others
Now in its third year, the Creative Cups™ project encourages artistic expression in celebration of the lives of those living with breast cancer and those we have lost to this terrible disease. Participants design and build original works of art using bras, which are exhibited and auctioned at a Gala reception in the spring. All the money raised will go to offset the costs of running the Adelphi NYStatewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program.
Bra submissions for Creative Cups™ 2013 must be postmarked by October 15, 2012. If you would like to create a bra, please read our submission guidelines, and take a look at some of our past submissions for a little inspiration!
This year's Gala Reception and Auction will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Adelphi University's Garden City Campus. Click here to learn more about this year's event and register to attend.
About the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program
The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program was founded in 1980 and was the first program of its kind in NYS exclusively addressing the psychological and societal issues associated with breast cancer. The program serves as a clearinghouse for breast cancer resources and organizations throughout New York State.
As the only NY statewide toll free breast cancer hotline, they answer almost 4,000 calls each year and have over 350,000 web site visits each year. The center is staffed by over 100 specially trained, professionally supervised volunteers, most of whom are breast cancer survivors. Professional counseling is provided to 1500 people each year, and all of the services are free.
