Supporting the Campaign

Click to Make an Online GiftThe Campaign for Adelphi University offers numerous opportunities for all who care about the University to participate in creating a lasting legacy for our students, faculty, and alumni. Donors may designate their gifts to a particular campaign priority, or they may make an unrestricted contribution in support of the campaign.

Gifts of Cash
A gift of cash is the easiest and most frequent way of giving. Your gift, by mail, over the phone, or on our secure Web site will be recorded and receipted promptly. These gifts are deductible for federal income tax purposes, subject to the limitations placed on charitable gifts by the Internal Revenue Service.

Gifts of Securities
Gifts of securities often confer significant tax benefits for the donor. For example, contributions of securities held for over one year are generally deductible at fair market value, regardless of what the donor paid for the securities. In addition, donations of securities may be exempt from capital gains taxes. Donors are encouraged to consult their financial advisors before making gifts of securities.

Multi-year Pledges
Donors are welcome to make a gift to the Campaign as a pledge to be paid in installments over as many as five years.

Endowed Funds
Donors who wish to create a new scholarship or professorship will be advised on the establishment of a named endowed fund. Endowed funds are a permanent investment in Adelphi that generate annual income to be spent in accordance with the donor’s intentions.

Planned Gifts and the Ruth S. Harley Society
The Ruth S. Harley Society honors those alumni and friends who have chosen to support the mission, vision, and programs of the University by including Adelphi in their estate plans.

Adelphi can provide assistance to alumni and friends who wish to support the University through cash, appreciated property, personal property, bequests, trusts, retirement plan assets, life insurance, and real estate. We would be pleased to work with you and your advisor to ensure the best possible use of your gift while meeting your personal and financial objectives.

Pioneers Society
Donors may wish to contribute to the Campaign in memory or honor of an Adelphi alumna. The Pioneers Society honors those alumnae in whose name an endowed scholarship or professorship has been given.

The Annual Fund
Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund will support the highest priorities of the University. Increased Annual Fund participation is a primary goal of The Campaign for Adelphi, and a powerful symbol of Adelphi’s continued growth and success.
Every Year. Every Day. Every One.

Recognizing Your Generosity
Every fiscal year, donors to the Annual Fund are invited to join a recognition society which honors their generosity. The following societies celebrate Adelphi’s history and traditions, recognizing the crucial role that benefactors play in the University’s past, present, and future.

Circle of Distinction $25,000 and above
