Who Gives?

Most Fond Adelphi Memories:
I have a whole closet full of them. From my student days, they include the people I went to school with who are still close friends and the things I picked up in class that influenced who I became. As a professor, they include excellent students; funny episodes in class; socializing with students away from the classroom; leading trips to different sites and communities; and thanks to the Internet, hearing more frequently from former students.
Hallmarks of a Great Teacher:
Passionate about what s/he is teaching. Will do whatever is necessary to get the message across. Cares about the student, not only academically but beyond.
Best Part of Teaching at Adelphi:
I have the latitude to be as crazy, inventive, and creative as I want to be in the classroom.
Alternate Dream Profession:
A performer—either a dramatic actor or comedian—or a psychiatrist.
Hobbies:
Reading, especially novels on the Italian-American experience and mysteries with international locales, and photography
