We talk about the Campaign for Adelphi as “Building Adelphi’s Future One Story at a Time.” I find this concept especially evocative, as Adelphi is truly built on stories – 111 years of stories of alumni, students, faculty, and administrative leaders. One of my favorite aspects of serving as Adelphi’s ninth president is hearing the tales, old and new, from the people whose lives have been forever altered by Adelphi, and who have in turn made their mark on the University. When I became president, I promised myself and my colleagues that we would work to reaffirm the trust of Adelphi’s alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and students. Many milestones and celebrations later, I think we may look at our recent progress as a testimony to the strength of a community with a shared belief in the power of an institution. Adelphi is a wonderful place, a home to many. We have taken great strides forward and have set lofty goals. The time has come to engage our alumni and friends in a comprehensive effort to bring our University to the next level.
