Message from President Scott |
It gives me great pleasure to welcome the Fifth Outdoor Sculpture Biennial to Adelphi University. This yearlong exhibition, which is displayed throughout the landscaped arboretum gardens and pathways of the University’s Garden City campus, reflects our continuing commitment to bring contemporary visual art to students and the community.
Like the global reach of the artists represented in this important exhibition, our University’s Fine Arts program has achieved international acclaim. Led by our distinguished faculty, our students are trained and mentored to hone their skills and to pursue their dreams in outstanding facilities, including the new Adele and Herbert J. Klapper Center for Fine Arts, which is home to extraordinary equipment. This remarkable exhibition will surely inspire our students, faculty, and the Long Island community.
I would like to offer special thanks to the Director of Adelphi University Exhibitions, Professor Richard Vaux, Art Collection Curator Eliz Alahverdian, and the Adelphi University Department of Art and Art History for bringing this exhibition to fruition.
Robert A. Scott
