I construct site-specific outdoor installations intended for display in public spaces. My pieces are large and resolved, yet minimalist and surrealist. I use scaled-up body parts to play with the viewer's preconceived notions on ordinary topics such as geometry, biology, architecture, and history as well as social interactions. Interested in mass appeal, I draw on these themes to cross demographic and psychological boundaries. In addition to using a vocabulary everybody can relate to, I utilize humor and aesthetics to increase the public appeal of my work. For the same reason, I prefer to work with common building materials such as cement, steel, wood, and plaster to sculpt the refined forms that make up my installations. My work engages the viewer through the comfort of the familiar, and then entertains them with the unexpected.
